Animated Simulations

Using the log-zinc data from the examples, two animated simulations were created, one from 50 conditional simulations and one from 50 unconditional simulations. For this, the gstat command files of Example 6 and Example 7 were modified by adding the line
set nsim = 50;
to create 50 instead of 1 simulation.

Both gifs are about 500 Kb. To view them, you need a web browser that supports animated gifs. Animation speed was set to 2 maps per second.

[[ To create these animations, the map2gif utility was used (in the gstat 2.0 release), which uses the gd 1.2 gif library from www.boutell.com as API for the creation of gif's. All gifs of simulated maps were merged into an animated gif using gifmerge (URL disappeared).

If you use Netscape, and the images don't animate, then empty your disk and memory cache and reload the pages.
